The last few years have been busy and exciting ones for Chris.  In addition to being named South Jersey’s Fundraising Executive of the Year, he was selected to present at the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ (AFP) International Conference, and published his first book, TRUISMS of Fundraising.

Chris Rollins came to fundraising as a volunteer, serving in a leadership role at Frederick Memorial Hospital in his Maryland hometown.  As Executive Director at Atlanta’s Southern Regional Medical Center and Virtua Health in New Jersey, he advanced increasingly larger development programs, before delivering consulting services to hospitals across the southeastern United States as Executive Vice President of Pride Philanthropy.

Currently, as Chief Development Officer of Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice, he leads the fundraising efforts of South Jersey's premier provider of hospice services.

Chris is a trustee of the Community Foundation of South Jersey, where he chairs the governance committee; a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and National Council of Hospice and Palliative Professionals (NCHPP) Development/Public Relations/Marketing Section Steering Committee; and a member of the National Partnership for Hospice Innovation's (NPHI) Philanthropy Forum.

He is a founding member and Past President of both the Georgia Hospital Association’s society for development professionals (GADP), and the South Jersey Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

Chris grew up in broadcasting and marketing communications, was a founder and President of the Greater Frederick Advertising Federation; won ADDY awards for his work in radio, TV, and print; and received the American Advertising Federation’s Silver Medal and Crystal awards.

He fulfills his love of teaching by presenting at national and regional seminars, lecturing at area colleges, volunteering as a mentor with AFP, and as an Executive Board member of Pride Philanthropy.  He is a member of AFP and AHP (the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.

Chris is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), and earned his MBA from Frostburg State University, and BA from Hood College.  He resides in the Pine Barrens of South Jersey with his wife Beth and their three daughters, and has begun work on his next book, TRUISMS for Trustees.

Leading Fundraisers Tell It Like It Is:

Chris Rollins’ experience as a successful volunteer fundraiser, as well as a chief development officer and consultant, gives him a unique perspective, which few can rival.  He is able to clear through the clutter of fundraising jargon into succinct ideas, techniques, and approaches that are invaluable to anyone in the field of philanthropy.  This is not a “little book.”  It is a big one.
